This is the first I’ve heard of this… a facial cleanser with suncscreen. Freeze 24-7 has created a first - a face wash called Ice Shield™ that contains sunscreen, an SPF15 to help keep skin hydrated and protected from sun’s damaging UVA/UVB rays. I would think that the SPF protection would just wash off but the new technology allows Ice Shield™ to bind the sunscreen to the skin while the cleansing washes away dirt and impurities. I would probably recommend sudsing it up for a few minutes to let Ice Shield™ do it’s magic.

Tanning under the hot rays is not really recommended nowadays but does this mean that we are going to stop doing it? Imedeen, I guess knows the answer to this because they have come out with a pill you pop - the Tan Optimizer which increases melanin production (the pigment that makes us tan), therefore increasing your tan potential. Patented delivery system and vitamins C, E, Beta Carotene and Lecithin. One capsule a day is all you need. Don’t forget sunscreen is still a must.

Sunburned skin is no fun but thankfully there are some products out there to come to our rescue. Here’s a few of may favorites. Cool-Aid by Sircuit Skin contains aloe, tea tree oil, vitamin E and Bisabolol which contains some healing properties to help red inflammed skin calm down.
If you are a fruit lover you may want to try Actifirm’s Hot Stop. This after sun reliever contains some tastey fruits like watermelon, banana, papaya, pineapple and mango but also includes Japan’s mucor miehei and shiitake mushrooms. All products combined help bring relief to sunburned skin.
If you want a creamer solution try Acqua Cures - a vitamin milk combination that hydrates and replenishes the skin. Acqua Cures contains active minerals that help to draw out the heat and redness.
Hopefully you won’t need these products because you will always remember to apply your sunscreen, but just incase, know that there is help.

Here’s a great little gadget for those of you who love to stay out in the sun for long hours. It’s the UV Hawk and it tells you how long you can stay in the sun before you start to burn. There are 4 different skin tone options for you to choose from and you enter the number of the sunblock protection you are using. There is also an alarm that sounds if you exceed the sun exposure limit for your settings. For more information on the UV Hawk visit http://www.smarthome.com/.

Victoria Secret is being sued by a Long Island, NY customer over a bikini she was wearing at the beach. The woman fell asleep wearing a bathing suit that had metal rings on the top. Since metal absorbs the heat from the sun it ended up burning her chest and permanently scarring her. She has sued Victoria Secret for $2 million! Well.. there’s one thing we can learn from this story do not buy bikinis with metal!

Sun protection is a must now a days, especially if you want to age gracefully - no wrinkles, sun spots or skin damage as well as avoid skin cancer. We are told to never leave home without using an SPF of 15 or higher on our faces. What I love about Colorscience’s Sunforgettable SPF 30 is that it goes on easy and has alot of coverage… even those hard to reach places. Sunforgettable goes on clear and offers instant protection from the Sun’s harmful rays. The mineral powder is pure and without additives, it does not clog the pores, is water-resistant and good for all skin types. What I also like about Colorscience is the fact that a alot of research goes behind their products and their use of nanotechnology is extensive. Sunforgettable protects from UVA, UVB and infared rays. Great for men, women and children.
